Great study resource

I'm a liberal arts major in my first year but I'm thinking about switching majors. I need a couple more math classes to meet the minimum graduation requirements anyway and one of my friends suggested I take the CLEP. I did okay in my math classes in high school ... enough to pass but I'm no math whiz. I didn't want to sit through a semester of math though so I decided to at least try the CLEP. I was looking at the both the CLEP College Math and College Algebra exams and trying to decide which to take because I heard the college math test is easier. There aren't many CLEP books on the market so I got the ones from REA from the library then purchased this one and their college algebra book from Amazon. The seller was having a sale that weekend so I got both books pretty cheap. I decided to take the college math exam because I felt more comfortable with it. I wasn't really worried about anything other than the logic section. I used both this book and the REA and the difference is that while it felt like the REA focused on test takings tips by presenting problems that were common (which are helpful), this book actually focused on trying to teach the concepts. That helped me a bit more because when I saw a problem on the test that was unfamiliar, I could work through it because I had studied the topic rather than just sample problems. I know it's hard to present a whole course within a book plus practice exams without making it technical like an actual textbook but I felt it did a better job of reviewing all the major topics than the REA. The test was a blur so I don't remember whether the questions were harder in the book than on the exam but I passed so I'm happy.
