All across the US, students just like you are using CLEP® exams to demonstrate proficiency and reduce the cost of their college education. With the CLEP program you get the opportunity to earn college credits for coursework without having to pay expensive tuition fees or sit through lengthy classes.

Each year, the College Board publishes practice test questions for all 33 CLEP exams. The practice questions in their exam guides give you samples of the type of problems you can expect to face on the actual exam. There are 60 sample test questions in the 2016 CLEP Calculus Examination Guide but only the letter MC answers are provided so you won't know how to correctly solve the ones you get wrong or don't understand. This guide provides the step-by-step worked solutions to these practice test questions to be used as a study aid. Only 4 questions have been changed from the 2015 edition. Here is the approximate distribution of questions on the exam:

• 10% – Limits
• 50% – Differential Calculus
• 40% – Integral Calculus

We cannot include the actual sample test questions in our solutions due to the College Board's copyright. If you need the original questions, they can be found in either the comprehensive 2016 CLEP Official Study Guide or the Calculus Examination Guide both available at http://clep.collegeboard.org/exam. Select the “Science & Mathematics” tab and then select Calculus from the list on the left. The Official Study Guide may also be available for checkout at your local public library. If you're going to take a few CLEP exams, the Official Study Guide is more economical as it contains all the exam guides.
