Each year, the College Board publishes updated sample test questions for every CLEP exam so that students know what to expect and what to review in order to be prepared for the exam. There are 80 sample test questions in the 2016 CLEP College Algebra Examination Guide but only the letter MC answers are provided so it won't explain how to correctly solve the ones you don't understand. This guide provides the step-by-step worked solutions to these practice test questions to be used as a study aid. Only 4 questions have been changed from the 2015 edition.

In deference to the College Board's copyright, the actual sample test questions and the answer choices are NOT included. If you need the original questions, they can be found in either the comprehensive 2016 CLEP Official Study Guide or the College Algebra Examination Guide both available at http://clep.collegeboard.org/exam. Select the “Science & Mathematics” tab and then select College Algebra from the list on the left. The Official Study Guide may also be available for checkout at your local public library. If you plan on taking more than two CLEP exam, the Official Study Guide is more economical.
