2015 CLEP Precalculus Examination Guide Practice Test Solutions
Each year, the College Board publishes updated sample test questions for every CLEP exam so that students know what topics to study for the exam. The 2015 CLEP Pre-Calculus Examination Guide contains 55 practice test questions but only the multiple choice answers are given. This pdf booklet explains how to solve each problem, making it a very useful study aid. Only 5 questions have changed from the 2014 edition of the official practice test. Here is the list of main topics found on the exam and the approximate % of questions that originate from each:
- 20% – Algebraic Expressions, Equations and Inequalities
- 15% – Functions: Concept, Properties and Operations
- 30% – Representations of Functions: Symbolic, Graphical and Tabular
- 10% – Analytic Geometry
- 15% – Trigonometry and Its Applications
- 10% – Functions as Models
Due to the College Board's copyright, the actual sample test questions are NOT included. If you need the original questions, they can be found in either the comprehensive 2015 CLEP Official Study Guide or the Pre-Calculus Examination Guide both available at http://clep.collegeboard.org/exam. Select the “Science & Mathematics” tab and then select Pre-Calculus from the list on the left. You may also be able to checkout a copy of The Official Study Guide from your local public library. If you plan on taking more than one CLEP exam, the Official Study Guide is more economical because it contains the exam guides for all the available CLEP exams.
